FLOWER helps households save water and energy. It turns normal water use into clean electricity and avoids wasting cold water before a shower warms up. That saved water can be reused at home, cutting bills, reducing waste, and supporting more sustainable everyday living for everyone everywhere.
FLOWER (Flow-Optimized Water & Energy Recovery) is a project designed to help households reduce water and energy waste in a simple, affordable, and sustainable way. It focuses on everyday activities, such as using water at home, and turns them into opportunities for saving resources and lowering utility bills.
The system combines two main solutions. First, a small and safe device installed in household water lines transforms the natural pressure and flow of water into clean electricity. This energy is stored and can be used when needed, helping to reduce overall electricity consumption without changing daily habits. Second, FLOWER avoids the common waste of cold water that usually runs down the drain while waiting for a shower to warm up. Instead, this water is collected and reused for purposes such as watering plants, household cleaning, or irrigating vertical gardens on the building façade and green roofs, thus also decreasing dramatically the electricity required for air conditioning.
FLOWER can work on its own or be connected to simple, low-cost sensors that help monitor and manage water and energy use. By making savings automatic and easy, FLOWER supports more sustainable homes and a more responsible use of natural resources.

Advanced Microturbines is an Italian company with has many years of experience turning research ideas into real products in the energy field. Hidric Online, a company based in Spain, that brings long experience in water systems and sustainable solutions. The team is completed by Petra Skalová, a graphic designer based in the Czech Republic, who ensures that ideas are clearly communicated through simple, attractive, and user-friendly visuals.
